If we combine the incredible wisdom and capability of nature with human ingenuity and toolmaking we can produce basic human necessities at near-zero marginal cost to reduce cost of living while increasing the standard of living to that of kings and queens of ages past.

By banding together we can purchase the tools of this new industrial revolution which will undoubtedly change the world as past industrial revolutions have. As we stand at what is undoubtedly a precipice in human history, are you willing to leave it to the 1% to decide the direction the world goes or are we ready to take things into our own hands?

we certainly don't have all the answers. But right now we think there is a huge opportunity for a cooperative to get into the electricity generation space in San Diego. If we can build a decent size solar + storage farm we think that might be an optimal way to kick off the bigger vision.

After 3D printed housing, hopefully, technology and regulations will be such that it would be good timing for a cooperatively owned autonomous vehicle fleet to be successful (and before that there’s still a massive opportunity in platooning, apps to increase traffic throughput, remotely operated vehicles etc.).

Then water+waste maybe (monetizing ecosystem service and social impact credits via both voluntary markets, environmental impact bonds, and any other instruments that appear), land rehabilitation (again, monetizing the benefit credits), then consumer goods such as clothing, food, devices (all the while doing education & open-sourcing everything). If we get this far hopefully the organization would be big enough to overcome the very high barriers to entry in healthcare.

Our collective incomes would likely have steadily climbed (thanks in part to a growing co-op dividend) while our baseline cost of living would have plummeted to near zero, assuming we ourselves were willing to buy the co-op’s products, and hopefully, we would be since we designed and built them. This leads to a mind-boggling world 15 or 20 years down the road where even just a small portion of our dividend is enough to meet all our basic needs of food, water, shelter, and health, not to mention any salary or income from our labor or other sources. Then, I think what we’d see is basically Kickstarter on steroids where we all put our wacky ideas out onto the marketplace whether they be an underwater hotel, or something artistic like a clothing design and people get to throw credits at whatever they like. If only one person loves your dress design and wants to buy it but it costs 4,000 credits to produce that one unit that’s ok! In this world, there are no manufacturing minimums :)
