Regenerative Potential Assessment

„We will look beyond sustainability or just “going green” and start to delve into where opportunities might lie to actually enhance and improve your local environment’s ability to repair itself.

„If you took high school calculus you might think of regeneration as being the second derivative of sustainability (i.e. what jerk or jolt is to velocity). The first derivative could be thought of as generation (or possibly resilience).

„In other words sustainable means something could go on forever under current conditions (if it’s just barely sustainable it can be tipped easily back into something that can only last a finite amount of time). When something is generative on the whole (i.e. net not gross) it is building up resilience, which means there is more of a buffer and the system is more able to withstand or recover from a negative change in conditions while still being able to go on forever. A regenerative system can be thought of as one that produces positive feedback loops such that the amount of generation happening (or resilience building) is increasing over time, exponentially sometimes for periods of time.

„This process can not only have significant financial benefits, but also has the potential to yield benefits to physical and mental health, improve intellectual capital, overall well-being, and most importantly in our opinion it can alleviate the suffering of the biosphere.
